Illinois Soccer Falls 2-0 to Michigan

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois soccer (3-1-4, 0-1-1 B1G) dropped its first match of the 2026 season to Michigan (3-1-3, 1-1-0 B1G), 2-0, on Sunday afternoon in Demirjian Park.
Michigan converted on two penalty kicks which proved to be the difference in today's contest. The first came in the 18th minute and the second in the 78th minute.
The Illini had a couple chances in the second half to get on the board, but it was not to be. Alyssa White led the offense with two shots and one on goal.
The Fighting Illini soccer team heads to Iowa City, Iowa on Friday (Sept. 18) to take on the No. 25 Iowa Hawkeyes at 5 p.m. CT.
