WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Illinois soccer (3-2-5, 0-2-2 B1G) dropped its second match of the season to Purdue (9-1-1, 3-1-0 B1G), 3-0, on Thursday night at Folk Field.
Hedda Ornberg gave Illinois the early momentum in the 29th minute of the match as she ripped a shot off the post and the offense applied pressure shortly after that. However, Purdue opened the scoring in the 37th minute and added to it in the 53rd and 57th minutes to win 3-0.
The Fighting Illini soccer squad returns home to Demirjian Park on Sunday (Sept. 27) to take on the Oregon Ducks at 1 p.m. CT. It will be Senior Day at Demirjian Park where four seniors will be honored: Ava Arengo, Ornberg, Myra Schneider and Sutton Webb.
