WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. — Illinois women's golf emerged victorious at the 2026 Boilermaker Spring Classic, carding an 870 (+6), to finish three strokes ahead of No. 48 and host, Purdue.
The Fighting Illini started strong with the lowest team round of the entire tournament on Sunday, a 286 (-2), and finished strong on Monday with the second-lowest team round, a 288 (E), the only pair of team rounds at or under par.
Illinois finished with the best scoring average on par fours (4.12), and par fives (4.68), along with the most birdies (43), and most pars (168).
Anna Ritter was the low scorer for the Orange and Blue in fourth place, tallying a 216 (E), one of just four players in the field to finish at or below par. After notching a 71 (-1) in both the first and second rounds, she tallied a 74 (+2) during the final day of competition.
Freshman Alexis Myers climbed four places up the leaderboard to finish just behind Ritter in a tie for fifth place. Myers carded her best round of the event on Monday, a 70 (-2), also the third-best individual score of the round. The Northbrook, Illinois, native finished tied for the most birdies across the tournament, registering 11.
Brielle Mapanao rounded out the top-ten finishers for Illinois, concluding the tournament in tenth with a 219 (+3). Mapanao also earned her best round score on Monday afternoon, a 72 (E). Mapanao and Myers were tied for the best scoring average of the field on par fours (4.03), and Mapanao recorded the most pars of the field, with 41.
Victoria Zheng improved eight places during the final round, finishing just outside the top ten in sole possession of 11th place. Her 72 for par on Monday was her best round of the tournament, and she finished with a 221 (+5).
Erica Lee finished in a tie for 12th, tallying a score of 74 (+2) for the final round, and a 222 (+6) overall.
Individual competitors Kylie Eaton and Tavia Burgess finished tied for 36th and 66th place, respectively. Burgess made the largest climb on the leaderboard, up 12 places from her day one finish.
Isabella McCauley of Minnesota was the event's individual champion, finishing with a 212 (-4).
Illinois now turns its attention to the postseason, with the Big Ten Championships slated for April 24-26 in Glendale, California. The three-day event will be held at the Oakmont Country Club.
