ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Illinois women's golf concluded the Coach Mo Classic on Tuesday afternoon. The squad finished fifth of 16th teams, its second consecutive top-five finish of the spring season, with an 881 (+17) over three rounds.
As a team, Illinois carded its best round of the two-day event on Tuesday, a 292 (+4). Victoria Zheng, the squad's low scorer, finished tenth, notching a 72 (E) in the final round, and a 217 (+1) overall for the event. Also tallying a 72 on the day was Anna Ritter, who finished tied for 13th with a 219 (+3) overall.
Myers registered a 73 (+1) in round three after tallying the same in round two, finishing tied for 24th with a 222 (+6) for the event. Brielle Mapanao and Erica Lee both finished tied for 36th.
Purdue finished even to take the team championship, while Sophia Fullbrook of Florida State and Pimpisa Sisutham of UCF each carded a 212 (-4) to take home individual co-champion honors.
Illinois returns to action April 12-13 at the Boilermaker Spring Classic, hosted by Purdue at the Ackerman-Allen Course in West Lafayette, Indiana. The two-day event will be the last outing for the Fighting Illini before postseason play commences.
