TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Illinois women's golf completed the opening round of the Florida State Match Up on Friday evening, sitting in a tie for seventh place of 12 teams after day one. As a team, the Fighting Illini carded a 298 (+10). The full leaderboard can be viewed on GolfStat.
Anna Ritter shot a 72 to finish even on the day, leading Illinois and finishing the day tied for 11th place overall.
Behind her was Brielle Mapanao, who shot a 74 (+2), and sits knotted with six other golfers in 24th place.
Victoria Zheng and Erica Lee both shot a 76 (+4), and are tied for 36th after 18 holes. Alexis Myers was one stroke behind, finishing with a 77 (+5).
Kylie Eaton, competing as an individual, shot a 78 (+6), finishing the first day tied for 45th.
As a team, Illinois tallied 14 birdies, third most of any team in the field. Myers had four of those 14, including three on the front nine.
