CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois women's golf is set for the Chevron Collegiate, that will take place Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 23-24, at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
THE COURSE
The two-day event will take place at the Golf Club of Houston's Tournament Course. The course, designed by Rees Jones and David Toms, is 6,203 yards with a par of 72.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
54 holes will be played over two days, with 36 holes on Monday, Feb. 23, and 18 holes on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Both days feature a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT.
THE FIELD
The 17-team field features ten teams ranked inside the top 50 of the NCAA team rankings, and all 17 squads are ranked in the top 100. Host Houston (32), Baylor (20) Iowa State (27), Indiana (39), Maryland (65), Mississippi State (11), North Carolina (16), North Texas (59), Oregon (3), SMU (31), TCU (43), Texas State (54), ULM (71), UNCW (78), and UTSA (92) will compete alongside Illinois (53).

LAST TIME OUT
Last week, Illinois competed at the Spartan Suncoast Invitational in Sarasota, Fla., finishing tied for 11th, with a team total of 918 (+54) after three rounds of play. Zheng led the team, earning an 11th place individual finish, tallying a 220 (+4). Ritter had the second-best placement of the Fighting Illini, earning the team's only round under par, and finishing tied for 29th.
ILLINI AT THE CHEVRON COLLEGIATE
At the 2025 Chevron Collegiate, Illinois finished sixth of 16 teams, behind champion TCU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, SMU, and Mississippi State. The Fighting Illini carded an 847 (-17) over three rounds, with a team-low round of 275 on the final day. The 275 (13-under) was the second-lowest team round in program history, just two strokes shy of the program record, which was also set at the same event in 2022 (previously named the ICON Invitational).
Zheng was the highest Illinois finisher at the 2025 event, recording a 210 (72-68-70) to tie for 12th. Mapanao and Ritter also return from the 2025 lineup. Mapanao finished tied for 20th last season with a 212, while Ritter was just behind in tie for 25th, posting a 214.
In 2024, the Illini finished 9th of 16 teams at the event, with Isabel Sy carding a 68 (-4) in the final round to earn co-champion honors, the first individual medal of her career.
