Biography

JUNIOR - 2024 (GRAND VALLEY STATE)

  • GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year
  • All-GLIAC First Team
  • Posted a 13-1-8 record in goal with 79 saves.
  • Produced nine individual shutouts and two combined shutouts.
  • Stopped a career high seven saves in both games against Northern Michigan...She helped the Lakers defeat the Wildcats 1-0 in Marquette with seven saves before making seven saves in a 1-1 draw in Allendale.
  • Junk had four consecutive games without allowing a goal in conference play from Oct. 11-27, making eight total saves during that span.
  • In her 22 games played, Junk had a 0.41 goals-against average and an 89.8 save percentage.

SOPHOMORE - 2023 (UI INDY)

  • Played in 12 matches, making 4 starts in goal for the Jaguars.
  • Registered a season-high 110 minutes in the Horizon League semifinal against Northern Kentucky (Nov. 2) that went to extra time and eventually penalties where she made a season-high seven saves.
  • Recorded back-to-back shutouts in the final two matches of the season at Robert Morris (Sept. 21) and against Purdue Fort Wayne (Sept. 25).
  • Faced a season-high 17 shots against Detroit Mercy (Sept. 21), making seven saves and allowing just one goal.
  • Finished the year with a 0.91 goals against average and 0.842 save percentage.
  • Named #HLWSOC Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks to close out the regular season.

FRESHMAN - 2022 (UI INDY)

  • Made seven appearances in goal with three starts as the Jaguars' No. 2 goalkeeper.
  • Had a 1.40 goals against average and .793 save percentage with a 1-2-0 record and a shutout.
  • Recorded her lone win and shutout of the season in the 3-0 win over Detroit Mercy (Oct. 9).
  • Had a season-high eight saves against Milwaukee (Oct. 6).
  • Made her collegiate debut with a clean half in relief in a win over Western Illinois (Aug. 28).
  • Played 162:32 in net to start her career before yielding a goal in her fourth appearance of the season.
  • Named to IUPUI's Academic Advisor's List (3.0 GPA or better) both semesters.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB

  • Varsity starter since her freshman year at St. Joseph (Mich.) High School.
  • Earned first team All-Conference and All-District honors all three years (sophomore season was cancelled due to COVID).
  • Led St. Joseph to district titles all three years.
  • Honorable mention All-State honors in 2019 and All-State performer in 2022.
  • Also played basketball at St. Joseph, earning All-Conference three times, All-District twice and All-State honors in 2022.
  • Played club soccer for Kalamazoo Kingdom, leading them to a Premier II title in 2020 with a 0.29 goals against average and five shutouts.
  • Had a 0.63 GAA and five shutouts for Kalamazoo Kingdom in 2019.

PERSONAL

  • Born on Sept. 11, 2003.
  • Daughter of Mark and Trisha Junk.
  • Has one brother, Cameron.
  • Dad and uncle, John, played basketball at Knox College...dad was inducted in to the Knox College Hall of Fame in 2010.
  • Chose Illinois because, "it offers the perfect balance between competitive soccer and strong academics, allowing me to pursue my athletic goals at a high level while also receiving a top quality education."
  • Intends on majoring in kinesiology at Illinois.
