MILWAUKEE – Illinois dropped its road match to Marquette, 3-0, in the first half of the teams' home-and-home contests on Friday evening at Al McGuire Center.
The Fighting Illini's three-match winning streak came to a close as the visitors moved to 4-3 on the season.
Paityn Chapman posted nine kills, nine digs, three blocks, and three assists. Alyssa Aguayo accumulated eight kills and three blocks, while Talita Goncalves tallied 10 digs for her fifth straight outing with double-digit digs.
In her first appearance of the season, Gabriella Pitcel finished the day with a career-high four blocks along with her first collegiate kill.
Illinois wraps up the weekend with a rematch against Marquette on Sunday afternoon at Huff Hall. The Fighting Illini will face the Golden Eagles at 3 p.m. CT, with the contest set to stream on B1G+.
