CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois Athletics is excited to announce that the Fighting Illini will once again partner with Busey Bank to host Busey Bank FamILLy Movie Night at Gies Memorial Stadium. This year's Busey Movie Night is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, Aug. 8 and will feature the public debut of college football's largest videoboard.
This year's feature film will be Air Bud, one of the all-time favorite movies of Illini basketball star David Mirkovic.
Busey Bank FamILLy Movie Night is free to attend. Air Bud will begin at approximately 7 p.m. CT with free parking available in Lot 31, west of Gies Memorial Stadium. Fighting Illini student-athletes will be available for autographs and pictures prior to the movie from approximately 5:30-6:30 p.m. CT.
Coach Bielema's annual FamILLy First Backpack and School Supply Drive will take place at the Busey Bank FamILLy Movie Night. The first 150 fans donating school supplies to the cause will receive free popcorn.
Fans will be NOT allowed to bring outside food and beverages or chairs into the stadium. Multiple concessions stands and food trucks will be on hand with a variety of food and beverage options.
