
Brenna Farmer Signs with Illinois Softball

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Brenna Farmer will join Illinois softball ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, as announced by head coach Jenna Hall on Thursday evening. Farmer signed a Big Ten Athletics Aid Agreement with Illinois and comes to the program as a rising senior.
Farmer played the last three seasons under Hall at Ohio. A mainstay at first base, Farmer started 162 games for the Bobcats, owning a .310 career batting average, including an impressive .392 average in 2025.
Following her junior campaign, Farmer was named to the All-Mid American Conference (MAC) second team, hitting .310 with 14 doubles, six home runs, and 45 RBI. The lefty started 57 of 58 games for the Bobcats and maintained a .989 fielding percentage with five double plays turned.
Farmer had a standout sophomore season in 2025, earning NFCA All-Great Lakes Region recognition, All-MAC first team honors, and a place on the MAC All-Tournament Team. On the year, she notched a career-best .392 average at the plate, tallying 69 hits, 16 doubles, and 45 RBI.
In her first collegiate season, she started 49 games for the Bobcats, totaling 32 hits, 24 RBI, and four home runs.
Farmer is a native of Mount Blanchard, Ohio, and intends to major in psychology at Illinois.
