CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Fighting Illini head softball coach Jenna Hall announced the signing of outfielder Izzie Wilson on Tuesday morning. Wilson signed a Big Ten Athletics Aid Agreement with Illinois and will join the program for the 2026-27 campaign. A rising senior, she joins the squad after playing under Hall for the last three seasons at Ohio.
While at Ohio, Wilson played in and started more than 150 games, including all 58 games in her junior campaign. During the 2026 season, she hit .350, with 62 hits, 12 doubles, seven home runs, and 54 RBI.
"I chose Illinois because of the support that will be provided to me during my time here," said Wilson.
"I wanted to be part of the legacy the new coaching staff is building at Illinois and part of the culture they are bringing to this program. Illinois provides excellent resources that will prepare me for my future career while challenging me to grow as a student-athlete."
As a freshman in 2024, she started 54 games, earning Mid-American Conference (MAC) All-Tournament recognition, as well as All-MAC second team honors. She hit .313 with 46 hits, six doubles, four home runs, and 26 RBI.
A native of Delaware, Ohio, Wilson is a two-time Academic All-MAC selection, and intends to major in communication at Illinois.
