B1G Recognitions
The 2025 All-Big Ten Women's Gymnastics teams were announced on Monday, March 17 by the conference. Student-athletes are named to All-Big Ten teams based on their standing in the National Qualifying Score. Freshman all-arounder Chloe Cho (Simi Valley, Calif.) was named a first-team All-Big Ten selection, as well as Big Ten All-Freshman Team honoree. Cho was one of just two freshman to receive first-team honors this season, accompanied by Iowa's Aurélie Tran. Cho currently ranks in the top 100 on every apparatus and is in the top 40 nationally in the all-around; a feat no other Big Ten All-Freshman team member has accomplished this year. She is the first Illinois freshman to garner first-team honors since Mia Takekawa in 2020, and just the seventh in Illinois program history, joining Denise Lamborn (1987), Peggy Pullman (1990), Ashley Williams (2002), Nicole Cowart (2007), Allison Buckley (2008), and Takekawa (2020). Junior Tali Joelson (Seattle) was recognized as Illinois' Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree. The conference will announce its Gymnast of the Year, Coach of the Year, Specialist of the Year, and Freshman of the Year at the Big Ten Championships during the awards ceremony.

Give Her Five
- After four years in Champaign-Urbana, Amelia Knight thought her time with the Illinois women's gymnastics team was over. Instead, Knight received the opportunity to come back for one more year.
- Knight immediately stepped into the lineup as a freshman, making her debut on beam and floor during the Illini's first meet of the 2021 season. The following year, she grew more comfortable, confident, and consistent, appearing in all 13 meets while garnering Academic All-Big Ten honors for the first time.
- As a junior, Knight helped the Illini set the program's beam record with a career-high 9.925 while once again competing in every meet. Also finding success off the mat, she earned Academic All-Big Ten status for the second consecutive season while being named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
- With increased expectations for herself and the team, Knight is ready to make a splash heading into the 2024-25 campaign.
