SARASOTA, Fla. — Illinois distance swimmers Taylor Judas, Liv Dorshorst and Emma Schumacher successfully swam the 5k distance at the CSCAA Open Water Championship in Sarasota, Florida, this morning (Dec. 13). They placed 13th as a group out of 18 Division I teams.
Judas, a sophomore from Urbandale, Iowa, and Dorshorst, a senior from Kildeer, Illinois, came across the finish line together. Judas tallied a time of 1:01:37.6, good for 39th amongst all Division I swimmers, while Dorshorst finished just behind in 1:01:38.6, earning 40th in Division I for the event. Schumacher, a freshman from Fishers, Indiana, rounded out the trio in 77th, coming across the line in 1:06:29.3.

The full Illinois swim and dive team will return to action in the new year, traveling to West Lafayette, Indiana, for its second Big Ten dual meet at Purdue. Action is set to commence at 10 a.m. CT from the Morgan J. Burke Aquatics Center.
