EVANSTON, Ill. – The Illinois women's swim and dive team split their tri meet on Saturday between Northwestern and the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). The Illini beat UIC by a score of 223-70, but dropped the Big Ten opener to Northwestern 203-92.
BETWEEN THE LANES
Freshman Liv Dorshorst continued to improve her personal-best times. She finished second in the 1000 freestyle (10:11.21) and the 500 freestyle (4:57.83). Â Junior Cara Bognar finished third in the 1000 freestyle (10:18.76) and the 200 butterfly (2:04.51). Â Sophomore Sydney Stoll earned third in the 500 freestyle (5:03.43) with Bognar directly behind (5:05.51)
Senior Athena Salafatinos contributed a pair of third place finishes in the 100 (57.12) and 200 backstroke (2:05.36). Senior Kaleigh Haworth notched a third-place finish in the 100 (1:05.63) and 200 breaststroke (2:22.58). Freshman Sara Jass finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.31) and 200 IM (2:06.2).
 In the 50 freestyle, senior Isabelle Guerra placed third (23.91) and junior Lily Olson finished directly behind (24.06). Senior Hannah Aegerter touched fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:06.70). In the 100 butterfly Sara Jass claimed second (57.24). Sophomore Paloma Canos-Cervera and Isabelle Guerra tied for third in the same event (57.44).
ON THE BOARDS
Freshman Abby Manos improved her best three-meter dive (241.05) and earned third. She placed sixth on the one-meter boards (210). Junior Taylor Michael finished fourth in the three-meter (232.75) and seventh in the one-meter (208.55).

The Illini travel south to Florida International University for a two-day meet on Nov. 4-5 and 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. CT respectively.
