Fighting Illini women's basketball head coach Shauna Green announced the hiring of Zachary Choo as the assistant director of scouting and video in June 2025. Choo joined the Illinois program after three seasons at Wisconsin and will reunite with Green after their time together at Dayton.

Choo was named the Wisconsin women's basketball video coordinator in May 2022 and spent the last three seasons in Madison. As a Badger, Choo was responsible for the coding and breakdown of practice and game film, advance opponent scouting, collaboration with the staff for opponent and self-scouting, analyzing Synergy SportsTech clips for projects and distribution, and managing the video and drawn playbook via JustPlay. Choo aided in UW's recruiting efforts as well, creating individual graphics and recruiting mailouts in addition to visit preparation.

The Honolulu, Hawai'i, native spent the 2021-22 campaign as the graduate assistant at Dayton. Choo also spent three years as a student manager with the Flyers. During his time at UD, he crossed paths with several members of the current Illinois staff. While with the Flyers, Choo worked with the coaching staff to organize and cut game film for opponent and team scouting. He was in charge of the construction of clips for team film sessions and highlight packages, as well as providing statistical breakdowns. Choo also assisted the team in recruiting and created graphics for social media and recruit mailings.

Choo is a 2021 graduate of Dayton with a degree in sport management and minor in business administration. He also co-founded CommittedGraphix during undergrad and was a graphic designer for the brand.
