Sully Altman is in his first season as a strength and conditioning intern at Illinois in 2026. 

Altman joined the Illini from Louisiana Monroe, where he spent the previous three years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He served as an assistant football strength and conditioning coach with the football program during his time at ULM, plus served as the head strength and conditioning coach as a graduate assistant for the men’s basketball program from 2023-24.

Altman started his career in strength and conditioning as an intern at Florida Atlantic in 2023. 

Altman was a four-year member of the football team as a linebacker at South Alabama from 2019-22. He was a member of the Sun Belt Academic Honor Roll and helped the Jaguars to a 10-win season and appearance in the New Orleans Bowl as a senior in 2022. 

Altman is a native of Rockledge, Florida. He is CSCS and CPR/AED certified and an active member of the NSCA and CSCCA.
