Devin McKeough is in his second season as the Illinois football team's Assistant Equipment Manager in 2025 after previously serving as a graduate assistant at Illinois. He rejoined the Fighting Illini from Purdue, where he served as a Football Equipment Associate during the 2023 season.
In his first season back in Champaign in 2024, McKeough helped in the execution of Illinois' Memorial Stadium 100th Anniversary helmets and uniforms, which were lauded across the nation. The Illini went 10-3, won the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, and finishing the season ranked #16 in the AP Top 25.
McKeough was a graduate assistant with the football equipment staff during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, including the Illini's trip to the ReliaQuest Bowl in 2022. He assisted with equipment operations, organizational logistics, as well as purchase, inventory, and maintenance of equipment.
McKeough earned his bachelor of science degree in agricultural and consumer economics from the University of Illinois in 2021, then earned a master of science degree in recreation, sport, and tourism in 2023. He served as a student manager for the football team for four seasons from 2017-20.
