CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois fell to No. 20 Nebraska, 12-5, on Saturday evening in the second game of its series at Illinois Field.
Four different Illini hitters recorded an RBI, while J.R. Nelson drove in two runs. AJ Putty posted a two-hit day at the plate, going 2-for-4, while Jack Zebig reached four times via a single and three walks.
Sam Reed registered a scoreless appearance while going two innings with only two hits allowed. Olivier Martel allowed one run in his two innings of work, while Ike Young fanned two in his 0.2 innings in the ninth.
