BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Fighting Illini men's golf team – No. 13 nationally in the NCAA Division I team rankings and No. 12 in the GCAA's Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll – closes out the regular-season schedule this weekend at the Hoosier Collegiate, hosted by Big Ten foe Indiana.
THE SETTING
The Hoosier Collegiate is held at The Pfau Course in Bloomington, Ind. The course, which opened in 2020, was designed by architect Steve Smyers and two-time major winner and Indiana native Fuzzy Zoeller. The course offers a unique, world-class layout that is set in the natural beauty of southern Indiana. Among the notable features are 147 bunkers, greens that range in size from 4,145 to 10,014 square feet, and six sets of tees that can extend to as much as 7,908 yards.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The 54-hole tournament will be a five-count-four format played over two days, with 36 holes slated for Saturday, followed by Sunday's final round. Both days are scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. ET/7:45 a.m. CT.
THE FIELD
The Hoosier Collegiate features a 15-team field that includes 10 of the Big Ten's 18 program's preparing for next month's conference championship. The No. 13 Illini are one of 10 top-100 teams in the field, along with Kansas (39), Purdue (41), Northwestern (46) and Little Rock (57) inside the top 60, and Ohio State (61), Minnesota (72), Rutgers (85), Michigan (87), and host Indiana (97) inside the top 100. B1G foes Maryland (103) and Wisconsin (108) sit just outside the top 100, followed by Northern Illinois (145), Toledo (151) and Ball State (186) rounding out the field.

ILLINI AT THE HOOSIER COLLEGIATE
The Fighting Illini will compete at the Hoosier Collegiate for the second time, returning to The Pfau Course for the first time since the Orange and Blue opened the 2021-22 season by winning a share of the team title in the event, then held in the fall. No current members of the Illini roster were on the team in 2021-22.
