Freshman Aidan Flinn turned in an impressive performance on the mound in Illinois' 8–7 loss to New Orleans in 10 innings on Sunday, April 12. Flinn retired the first 13 batters he faced and finished with a career-high 10 strikeouts across his first four innings of work. He fanned out seven consecutive hitters between the first and third innings, including striking out the side in both the second and third frames.
Flinn, a freshman student from Mokena, Illinois, is currently undeclared in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois.
