Fighting Illini Fall to Indiana State in Extra Innings Away from Home

RECAP

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Fighting Illini fell to Indiana State, 4-3, in 11 innings at Bob Warn Field on Wednesday night.

Will Johannes hit his fifth home run of the year in the second inning, while Jack Zebig tallied his first long ball of the season one pitch later in the frame. Collin Jennings accounted for the Illini's third RBI of the day.

On the mound, Sam Reed, Reed Gannon, and Kyle Remington all posted scoreless appearances. Olivier Martel struck out four Sycamore hitters, while Sam Mommer made his second start of the season and went three innings while fanning three. The Illini pitching staff combined for 13 strikeouts, tying the team's season-best mark.
