Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. — Illinois concluded its opening weekend at the Tiger Classic on Sunday afternoon, falling to No.16/13 LSU, 9-1, in five innings.
How it Happened
Ava Moore and Adisyn Caryl each tallied hits in the opening frame but did not come around to score, and the Tigers found home quickly, adding two runs in the first.
LSU built on its lead in each of the next three innings, with three runs in the second, two in the third, and a final pair in the fourth.
Despite out-hitting the Tigers, 7-5, propelled by multi-hit games from both Ellie Haggard and Gabrielle Debevec, Illinois could only generate one run in the fifth, falling 9-1 to No.16/13 LSU in its final outing of the Tiger Classic.
