CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois swim and dive hosts its final home meet of the season this Saturday (Feb. 7) at 11 a.m. CT, welcoming in-state opponent Eastern Illinois to the ARC pool.
Saturday will serve as the program's Senior Day, with the Fighting Illini recognizing Liv Dorshorst, Sara Jass, Adelaide Reaser, and Alexis Wendel for their contributions to the program.
Last time out, the Illini finished second of four teams at the Tim Welsh Classic, highlighted by a win from Jass in the 200 IM (2:00.83). Chloe Diner earned the program's second-best time in the 100 butterfly (54.27) to take bronze, while the 400-medley relay team of Sophia Paduano, Kayla Duran, Diner, and Maggie Adler also took bronze, logging the fifth-best time in program history (3:40.63).
On the boards, freshman Amelia Semple led the way with a third-place finish on the one-meter dive (281.15), and the seventh-best score in program history on the three-meter dive (306.75).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Eastern Illinois arrives in Champaign after a pair of weekend meets against Southern Illinois and Illinois State, falling to both teams. Top individual performances for the Panthers included gold for Anna Mueller in the 1000 freestyle, and for Sydney Vandervelde in the 200 IM, both against the Redbirds.
