AUBURN, Ala.— Illinois softball (0-6, 0-0 B1G) fell to Auburn (5-2, 0-0 SEC) on Thursday evening, 8-0 in five innings, at Jane B. Moore Field.
Graduate transfer Christina Crawford got the nod in the circle, her second this season, hurling 3.1 innings with a pair of strikeouts and allowing just one earned run.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Auburn added its first run in the bottom of the opening frame, after Ma'Nia Womack reached on an Illinois error, and was brought home by a double from AnnaLea Adams.
Ellie Haggard led off the second frame with a base hit for the Illini, but a trio of strikeouts left her on first base.
The second and third innings went scoreless before the Tigers added two more runs in the fourth, jumpstarted by a base hit from Alyssa Hastings.
Five runs for Auburn in the fifth inning finished the game, including a three-run home run for Kyla Stroud.

- Ellie Haggard records her fourth consecutive game with a hit.
- Delaney Mosley was hit by a pitch for the third time this season. The single-season record is 14 HBP, owned by Janna Sartini (2004) and Kelley Wedel (2011).
- Christina Crawford pitched 3.1 innings, her most in an Illini uniform, facing 20 batters and allowing just one earned run.
