CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois head cross country coach Eric Johannigmeier announced the 2025 cross country schedule on Tuesday (Aug. 5). It's a lighter schedule this season featuring six total meets, three in the regular season with one at home and three postseason meets.
The season begins with the lone home meet on Friday (Aug. 29) with the Fighting Illini Invitational at the Orange and Blue Golf Course in Savoy, Ill. The women will run the 4k starting at 11 a.m. and the men's 6k will follow at 11:30 a.m. CT.
The distance crew takes the month of September off before returning to action on Friday (Oct. 3) for the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Ind. and finishes out the regular season on Saturday (Oct. 18) with Pre-Nationals in Columbia, Mo.
The Big Ten Championships are hosted by Michigan State this year on Friday (Oct. 31) in East Lansing, Mich. The NCAA Midwest Regionals will take place on Friday (Nov. 14) in Stillwater, Okla. hosted by Oklahoma State. Finally, the NCAA Championships will be on Saturday (Nov. 22) back in Columbia, Mo. hosted by Missouri.
