CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini men's and women's track and field squads are set for their first home meet of the outdoor season, the Gary Wieneke Memorial, on Saturday (April 13) at Demirjian Park. Field events will begin at 11 a.m. CT, while track events are set to start at noon CT. Sojourn Rocs will be playing live music from 12-3 p.m. CT.

Junior Bara Sajdokova destroyed the 31-year-old high jump school record in her outdoor debut, 1.90m (6-2 3/4), at the Florida Relays a couple of weeks ago. She walked away the event champion, and her mark ranks third in the nation for 2024.

Fellow women's high jumper redshirt junior Rose Yeboah cleared the program's fifth-highest mark in her debut, 1.83m (6-0), which slots in at tenth in the nation currently. On the men's side, junior high jumper Kam Garrett recorded the program's fourth-best mark, 2.16m (7-1), which ranks 13th in the country.

Junior Jessica McDowell took the 400m crown by sprinting the program's third-fastest and nation's current fourth-fastest time (51.41). Freshman Cody Johnston also ranks fourth in the nation for pole vault with his mark of 5.60m (18-4 1/2).

Freshman Jordan Koskondy tossed the program's fourth-best hammer throw, 5.550m (182-1). Senior Tyler Sudduth is currently 16th in the shot put with his mark of 18.84m (61-9 3/4).
