CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois swim and dive team wrapped up its final home meet of the 2023-24 season on Saturday, Jan. 27, from the ARC Pool. The Nebraska Cornhuskers bested the Fighting Illini by a score of 169-131.
The day began with a pool record in the 200 medley relay. The team of junior Sydney Stoll, freshman Kylee Sessions, junior Logan Kuehne and senior Lily Olson won with a new ARC Pool record (1:41.64).
Sophomore Sara Jass etched her name onto the ARC Pool record leaderboard with her winning 200 IM time (2:00.60). Jass earlier in the meet swam the eighth-fastest 100 breaststroke (1:02.95), which placed her third in today's competition. Additionally, Jass later would win the 200 breaststroke (2:13.12).
BETWEEN THE LANES
Stoll later went on to swim a new college-best in her 200 freestyle win (1:48.72); which also ranks seventh-fastest in school history.
Junior Suvana Baskar captured the 100 backstroke crown (54.48), junior Logan Kuehne touched first in the 50 freestyle (23.62). Bludgen rounded out today's Illini event winners in the 100 freestyle (51.33) on senior day.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Olson, Bludgen, Kuehne and freshman Maggie Adler closed out the meet with a silver medal (3:24.44).
ON THE BOARDS
Senior Taylor Michael placed fourth on the three-meter boards today (291.38) and freshman Dani O'Kelly followed her in fifth place with a new personal-best and NCAA B cut score of 285.60. This order was reversed on the one-meter boards, in which O'Kelly placed fourth (266.78) and Michael placed fifth (259.13).

The Fighting Illini swim and dive unit is back in action on Feb. 15-16 for the Louisville Invite in Louisville, Ky., for all-day swim and dive action.
