CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo., on Friday, Sept. 29. The men's team will run the 8k at 9 a.m., and the women will run the 6k at 9:45 a.m. CT.
The men's squad is coming off of a three-week break, most recently competing at the Badger Classic. Senior Jack Roberts placed second overall (24:12.6) and led the Illini to a second-place finish with 53 points. Sophomore Alex Partlow finished third overall with a new personal-best 8k time (24:22.2).
The women's squad did not make the trip to the Badger Classic, so their last meet was the Illini Open at the beginning of the month. Junior Halle Hill won the 5k with a new personal-best time of 17:30.8, and junior Maggie Gamboa finished second (17:39.5).
