CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois men's and women's cross-country teams are ready for the NCAA Midwest Regionals on Friday, Nov. 14, at Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. The women's 6k will begin first at 9 a.m., and the men's 10k will follow at 10 a.m. CT.
The women's team is led by Nora Wollen, who finished in 47th place (21:03.6) at the Big Ten Championship in late October, Wollen previously finished in 50th (20:33.7) at Pre-Nationals in mid-October.
The Illini women had one more top-100 finisher in Avril Andre, who finished 86th (21:45.1) at this year's Big Ten Championships while Kennady Anderson finished in 107th (22:06.1) to round out the top-3 finishers for the women's team.
The men's team is led by Joshua Daggett and Adam Patel, who finished at 50th and 65th, respectively. Daggett finished in 24:25.5, and Patel clocked in at 24:38.6 at the Big Ten Championship. Both hope to have an impact this week and lead the team at Regionals. Pol Molins, Jackson Barrett, and Trey Sato aim to finish well this week, all finishing just outside the top 100 at the Big Ten Championship.
At last year's NCAA Midwest Regional in Peoria, Ill., the men's team finished eighth out of 29 teams in the 10k, while the women's team finished eighth out of 33 teams in the 6k.
