About The Ohio State University Golf Club
The cross country course at The Ohio State University Golf Club starts and finishes near the driving range. It heads out 1000 meters before connecting with a 2000m loop that the women will run 2 times and the men 3 times. The course will host the 2019 Big Ten Cross Country Championships on November 3, 2019.
A Look At The Competition
12 teams are set to contest the Buckeye Preview, including seven Big Ten programs (Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers). The women's 6K features four USTFCCCA national-top 30 teams, including No. 7 Michigan, No. 11 Michigan State, No. 16 Penn State and No. 21 Ohio State. No. 16 Michigan is the highest ranking program in the men's field.

Illinois Women Receiving National Recognition
The Fighting Illini women's cross country team received votes in the week 2 USTFCCCA National Rankings, announced Sept. 24. This is the first time the Illini women have appeared in the National poll since the 2009 season.
Last Time Out
Illini Women's Cross Country Places Sixth at John McNichols Invitational
Fighting Illini women's cross country earned a sixth-place finish at the John McNichols Invitational at Indiana State on September 21. The Illini were once again led by junior Rebecca Craddock, who placed 11th overall and timed 17:01.8 in a field that included five USTFCCCA top-10 nationally-ranked programs.
Freshman Emma Wilson crossed second for the Illini and earned a top-25 finish overall, recording a finish time of 17:31.7 to place 22nd. Sophomore Emma Milburn clocked a new PR at LaVern Gibson Championship Course, timing 17:32.0 to place 25th overall and third on the team. Sophomore Madison Marasco finished 39th overall, recording a finish time of 17:45.8. Rounding out the Illini scorers was junior Allison McGrath, who clocked a finish of 17:47.3 and placed 41st. Illinois finished with a team score of 126. Also finishing in the top-45 overall was Illini junior Nicki Cast. Cast came in right behind McGrath, placing 42nd overall with a season-best finish time of 17:49.3.
UI Men Finish Seventh at McNichols Invitational
Fighting Illini men's cross country saw three runners place in the top-50 overall and placed seventh as a team at the John McNichols Invitational. Redshirt sophomore Irwin Loud crossed first for the Illini, placing 29th overall recording a finish time of 25:05.0.
The first four Illini to finish at the McNichols Invitational all clocked new season-best finish times. After Loud, sophomore Logan Hall would finish second on the team, placing 39th overall and timing 25:19.2. Redshirt senior Zach Dale was next for the Orange and Blue, recording a finish time of 25:31.8 to place 50th. Redshirt sophomore Jack LaLonde crossed fourth for Illinois, finishing 59th overall with a season-best finish time of 25:42.2 Sophomore Colin Yandel would round out the Illini scorers, crossing fifth on the team right behind LaLonde at 60th overall and timing 25:44.9. The Illini finished with a team score of 211.
Illini in the Midwest Regional Rankings
The Illinois women's team continues to hold the No. 4 spot in the USTFCCCA Week 2 Rankings for the Midwest Region. It is the highest ranking for the Illini women's program in the regional rankings since 2012. The Illinois men sit eighth in the weekly Midwest Region rankings.

The Illini will take the next few weeks to prep for Pre-Nationals, set for Saturday, October 19 at Indiana State. The women's 6K will begin at 10 a.m. CT, and the men's 8K will follow at 10:35 a.m. CT.
