CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois diving team will send a trio of divers to Austin, Texas to compete in the Texas Hall of Fame Diving Invitational, hosted by University of Texas, at Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center Thursday, Nov. 21 through Saturday, Nov. 23. This will mark the first time Illini divers have attended the event.
Sophomores Madelyn Crosby and Taylor Shegos, and freshman Erin Young will represent the Illini at the invitational. The trio will compete against divers from host Texas, Arizona and Arizona State.
The three-day invite will hold both preliminary and finals competition. For the finals of each event, only the top-eight divers will compete. All finals will be televised on Longhorn Network.
Last Time Out
The Illinois divers competed two weeks ago against host Florida International and Miami in Miami, Fla. Shegos took sixth place in both the one-meter and platform dive, recording scores of 259.45 and 157.05, respectively. The Fenton, Mich., native also finished with a score of 230.05 to finish ninth in the three-meter diving competition.
Crosby took eighth in both the one-meter (237.80) and three-meter (233.35). Young scored a 222.30 in the three-meter and a 149.65 in the platform dive, finishing in 10th and seventh, respectively.
Next Up
The Illini diving team will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 4 through Saturday, Dec. 7 when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. for the Rutgers Diving Invitational, hosted by Rutgers.

- Top-8 one-meter finals – 5:05 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. CT

- Platform – 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. CT
