1. Meyers Leonard posted his sixth career double-double with a team-high 16 points and game-high 11 rebounds to lead the Illini. After scoring just two points in the first half, he turned in 14 points after the break.

2. Joseph Bertrand dished out a career-high five assists and followed Leonard with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Bertrand has reached double figures in four of the last five games and is averaging 12.8 ppg over that span.

3. Tracy Abrams finished 4-of-6 from the field and had a career-high nine points. He also had zero turnovers, marking the seventh time this season the freshman point guard has not turned the ball over.

4. D.J. Richardson scored 13 points, reaching double figures for the 15th time this season.

5. Illinois tied its second-fewest turnovers in a game this season with nine. It is the third time the Illini have had single-digit turnovers in a contest.

6. The loss was the first for Illinois at home this season (11-1) and snapped the 14-game home winning streak dating back to last season.

7. Former Fighting Illini head coach Harry Combes was honored during a pregame ceremony with a banner raised to the rafters. Combes, along with UI standout coaches Lou Henson, Doug Mills and Ralph Jones, will be permanently recognized at the Assembly Hall through the creation of the Honored Coaches program. Combes is the second coach to be lauded, as Henson's banner was revealed at halftime of the Jan. 12 contest against #5 Ohio State.

8. With an official attendance of 16,618 for the game, Assembly Hall was sold out for the first time during the 2011-12 season.
