Education:
Aliota graduated from Wyoming in 2013 with a degree in marketing. He was a student-athlete on the football team. Aliota earned his master's degree from Eastern Michigan in 2018 in sport management.
Responsibilities:
Aliota oversees all marketing, promotions, fan engagement strategies, in-game fan experience & student section leadership for Illinois Athletics. He is the lead project manager and day-to-day execution for ongoing and upcoming marketing, sales, and promotions calendar. Aliota leads collaborative efforts across departments and campus units to ensure seamless execution of fan engagement, communications and game-day initiatives.
Additionally, Aliota is the gameday producer for football and men’s basketball with oversight of all other home sport events; including the planning, preparation, and operational implementation of the game presentation and fan experience.
Past Experience:
Aliota joined Illinois in 2021 after spending 2018-21 as the director of marketing at Western Kentucky. From 2015-18, Aliota was a marketing coordinator at Eastern Michigan. Aliota spent 2014-15 at Oregon as a marketing and promotions assistant. Prior to that, he made a stop at Tulsa from 2013-14 as a marketing and promotions assistant. Aliota got his start as a marketing and promotions intern at Wyoming from 2012-13.
Personal:
A native of Wisconsin, Aliota is married to his wife, Amber, and they have three children: Leo, Frankie, and Rocco.
