Illinois women's golf head coach Renee Slone has announced the addition of Kari Bellville to her staff as an assistant coach and director of operations in August 2025. Bellville joins the Orange and Blue after spending three seasons working with the men's and women's programs at the University of Notre Dame.

Bellville arrived in Champaign following a three-year stint at her alma mater that began in August 2022. She was elevated to associate head coach for the Notre Dame golf teams entering the 2024-25 campaign, her final season back in her hometown.

During Bellville's time on the Notre Dame golf staff, the Irish posted 11 top-five team finishes along with the program's best finish at the ACC Championships since 2018. Additionally, the Fighting Irish claimed three individual tournament titles with Bellville on staff, including an NCAA Regional individual champion, the first in program history. Bellville assisted graduate Lauren Beaudreau (NCAA East Lansing Regional champion) at the 2024 NCAA National Championships in La Costa, California - the first appearance for the Irish since 2011.

Bellville returned to Notre Dame after spending the 2021-22 season as the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) women's golf head coach. Prior to UAB, she was an assistant coach at Texas State from December 2019 to May 2021.

A 2018 Notre Dame graduate and three-year women's golf student-athlete, Bellville did not compete during her senior year at Notre Dame due to a wrist injury. She finished her degree in business marketing and utilized her final year of eligibility at Indiana University in 2018-19, helping the Hoosiers advance to the NCAA tournament by finishing 19th as an individual in the NCAA East Lansing Regional. This was the first NCAA National Championship appearance for the Hoosiers in 12 years. Following her playing career at IU, she joined the Hoosiers as a graduate assistant in the fall of 2019 and graduated in December of that year with a master's degree in sport administration and management.

Bellville was a four-year letterwinner and team captain at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana.Â
