Why Illinois: “Illinois stood out to me because of the support and the community around both academics and athletics. When I visited, they really focused on helping me understand my own mental strength and how to use it not just in sports, but in life. That meant a lot to me. It made me feel like they actually care about developing the whole person, not just the performance. I’m planning to go the strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship route, and Illinois has the resources, networks, and opportunities to help me grow in that direction. The campus feels big but still connected like a place where I can belong, push myself, and surround myself with people who want to see me win. I want to be somewhere that challenges me but also supports me, and Illinois feels like that place.”
