CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini men's golf program was recognized Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for its success in the classroom when the organization announced its 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Awards.
The PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Awards honor programs across all collegiate levels – NCAA Divisions I, II, and III; NAIA; and NJCAA Divisions I and II – that record a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. A record total of 331 programs were honored across all six divisions.
The Fighting Illini also earned the added distinction of being one of 88 NCAA Division I programs to earn the 2025-26 Presidents Special Recognition for having a team GPA of 3.5 or better.
This marks the 10th consecutive year that the Illini have been recognized with the GCAA's Team Academic Award, and the fifth time in the last seven seasons that the team has earned the Presidents Special Recognition.
