CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Director of track, field and cross country Petros Kyprianou announced the addition of combined events transfer Joy Anderson to his team on Tuesday (June 2).
Anderson is a rising star in the combined events world after she completed her freshman season as the heptathlon Big West Champion with her new personal-best score of 5,740 points which would be the fifth-best score in Illinois history. She makes her way to Champaign from UC Irvine and will compete as a sophomore next season. Prior to college she was a two-time CIF State Championship finalist and named the Long Beach Century Athlete of the Year.
