Coleman Named to USA Basketball U18 National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Incoming Fighting Illini freshman Quentin Coleman has been selected to the 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team. He is one of 12 players who will represent the U.S. at the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup from June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico.
Coleman was chosen for the team following six days of training camp among 32 participants, and 19 finalists, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Athletes attending training camp were selected by the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee.
A 6-foot-4-inch, 180-pound guard from St. Louis., Coleman was a first-team MaxPreps All-American, second-team Naismith All-American, Gatorade Missouri Player of the Year, St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro Player of the Year and Class 3 Player of the Year by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association as a senior at Principia School. As a senior, he averaged 23.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.7 steals, leading the Panthers to a second straight state championship. Coleman is a five-star recruit by 247Sports Composite, ranked No. 13 nationally by 247Sports, No. 15 by Rivals and No. 23 by ESPN, contributing to a No. 17 ranking by 247Sports Composite and No. 23 by Rivals Industry.
In addition to Coleman, the 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team includes Bruce Branch III, Adan Diggs, Caleb Gaskins, Demarcus Henry, Jasiah Jervis, Malachi Jordan, Taylen Kinney, Colben Landrew, Ethan Taylor, Davion Thompson and Darrius Wabbington. The team is led by head coach Anthony Grant (Dayton) and assistant coaches Matt Langel (Colgate) and Nate Oats (Alabama).
USA Basketball will open Group A play with Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. The U.S. men take on Argentina in their opening game at 6:30 p.m. CT on June 1. On June 2 at 9 p.m. CT, the USA will face Mexico. Group A play closes for the U.S. against Brazil at 4 p.m. CT on June 4. The winners of both groups will advance directly to the semifinals on June 6, and the medal games are scheduled for June 7. Semifinal play-in games are set for June 5.
