CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois women's gymnastics team is on the road to wrap up the regular season, traveling to Minneapolis to compete in the Minnesota Quad Meet against No. 13 Minnesota, No. 20 Iowa and Northern Illinois on Sunday, March 15, 2025 at 2 p.m. CT. 

Last time out, the Illini recorded a season-high 196.175 on Sunday (March 8) at Huff Hall but fell to No. 3 Alabama, 197.125-196.175, on Senior Day. Lyden Saltness led the Illini with a career-high 9.900 on beam, earning her first event title of the season on the apparatus. Illinois posted season-best team scores on beam and floor, finishing the meet strong in the final two rotations. 

Alea Bryne paced the Illini on vault with a season-high 9.825, while Chloe Cho added 9.850 on bars. Freshman Piper Gow recorded career-best 9.825 on bars, and Eden King matched her career-high with a 9.900 on floor. 

MINNESOTA SCOUT 

No. 13 Minnesota fell to No. 17 North Carolina, 197.200-196.925, in its most recent meet. With the loss, the Gophers moved to 9-4 (7-2 BIG) on the season. Arianna Ostrum won the all-around title for the second straight meet with a 39.450, tying North Carolina's Sydney Seabrooks. Jordyn Lyden claimed the bars title with a 9.900.

Minnesota scored a 49.025 on vault, 49.300 on bars, 49.475 on beam, and 49.125 on floor. The Gophers closed the meet strong on beam, highlighted by 9.925 scores from Brooklyn Rowray and Lyden and a 9.900 from Sarah Moraw.

IOWA INFO

Iowa women's gymnastics defeated Central Michigan, SEMO, and Northern Illinois with a 196.500 last Friday inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Hawkeyes finished the season 9-0 at home, making this their first undefeated home record since 2022. 

Aurélie Tran and Sydney Turner each earned two event titles with career-high performances. Turner won vault (9.975) and beam (9.925). Turner got a 9.975 on vault and the all-around title with a 39.600. Tran's bar score tied the Iowa program record. 

Iowa posted a season-high 49.275 on vault and a 49.375 on bars, tying the fifth-best bars score in program history. JerQuavia Henderson added a season-best 9.950 on floor to earn the event title as the Hawkeyes closed the meet strong.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS NOTABLES

Northern Illinois gymnastics finished fourth at a quad meet hosted by Iowa on Friday night with a 193.300 team score. The Huskies set a new team season-high on beam (48.400) in the final rotation. Mikayla Brown led NIU with a 9.825 on beam, tying for third, while she added scores of 9.775 on floor and 9.725 on vault. 

Dawsyn Sallee recorded a 9.825 on vault, while freshman Makenna Brooks anchored the floor lineup with a 9.825. Samantha Nickle also posted a career-high 9.750 on vault for Huskies.
