ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Network (BTN) announced their broadcast schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 wrestling season on Wednesday (Oct. 21). The preseason No. 21 Fighting Illini will appear on BTN twice this season. First, on Friday (Jan. 8) at 7:30 p.m., Illinois hosts Northwestern for their Big Ten opener and later hosts No. 18 Michigan on Friday (Jan. 29) at 8 p.m. CT
The Illini were on BTN three times last season, where they lost a narrow battle to No. 13 Michigan 14-18 in Ann Arbor on Jan. 18 but defeated No. 24 Indiana 27-7 on Jan. 30 at home. The Orange and Blue then went on to dual Northwestern for the last match of the regular season and won 44-3 on Feb. 15 in Evanston, Ill. 44 points was the Illini's second-most points in a Big Ten dual ever.
