No. 24 Illini Drop B1G Meet in Columbus

Results 

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 24 Illinois women's gymnastics (5-3, 0-2) lost to No. 12 Ohio State (2-2, 1-1) Monday night 197.100-196.175 at Covelli Center. 

Freshman Destiny Denning tied for first on bars with a 9.90. Fellow freshman was close behind, scoring a 9.875 the first time in the bars lineup. 

Arielle Ward had the highest vault score with a 9.850 with Mia Takekawa taking a 9.825. 

Abby Mueller, Ward, Allie Morgan and Kadyn Fitzgibbon all tallied the same score of 9.825, with Takekawa scoring a 9.775. 

Takekawa had another stunning performance on beam, scoring her third straight 9.90. Kaitlyn Ewald also had a good performance, scoring a 9.850. 

The Illini will come back home to host Rutgers on Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. in Huff Hall for the I AM meet and the Kids Clinic.
