CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 5 Fighting Illini men's gymnastics is set to take on No. 1 Oklahoma for its home opener on Sunday, Jan. 28, at Huff Hall on Big Ten Network.
History
Illinois and Oklahoma have a deep past, competing against each other 66 times. The Illini trail in the all-time series, 9-57, but Illinois defeated the Sooners in the 2023 NCAA Championships, 415.590-414.024.

Illinois is coming off a 400.950-388.650 victory over Greenville on Saturday.
Six Illini are coming off title wins: Michael Fletcher on floor, Brandon Dang on pommel horse, Ashton Anaya on still rings, Garrett Schooley on vault, Tate Costa on parallel bars and Logan Myers on high bar. Costa also won in the all-around with a score of 79.150.
With Fletcher's floor win, he now has a title in every event and all-around.

After their performance at Greenville, the Illini received a new ranking of No. 5, led only by No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 Nebraska and No. 4 Michigan.
Illinois has two athletes ranked in the top five of their respective events: Ashton Anaya is No. 3 on still rings, and Myers is No. 6 on high bar.
The Illini are also ranked No. 1 on vault.
