Illinois Hits the Road to Kick off Season at Indiana State

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. –  The Fighting Illini swimming and diving team kicks off their 2021-2022 season on Friday, October 15th. The team will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to take on Indiana State at 6 p.m. ET. This will be the Fighting Illini's first non-exhibition meet of the season.

Head Coach, Sue Novitsky, accredits the team's hard work when looking forward to this weekend. She said, "From the start of the school year, the team has been training with energy, effort, and focus. We are looking forward to the next step of the competing and challenging ourselves as a team." As they travel to Terre Haute on Friday, the Fighting Illini are seeking out their first team victory since their win against Nebraska on January 23rd, 2021.

SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES

The Sycamores of Indiana State head into this weekend's meet with an 0-2 record. Falling to Indiana (253-47) and Kentucky (251-49) in a Tri-meet at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center at Indiana University.

NEXT UP

The Orange and Blue will travel to Evanston, Ill. to face off in a tri-meet with Northwestern and UIC on Saturday, October 23rd. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. CT.
