CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois women's gymnastics team defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes, 195.325-195.150 on Friday night at Huff Hall. The Illini improve to 5-1 overall this season.
Freshman Nicole Biondi earned the first event titles of her career taking the bars (9.900) and all-around titles (39.325). Sophomore Rae Balthazor earned a share of the bars title with a 9.900. Freshman Kasey Meeks won her third vault title in four contests with a 9.850. Junior Haylee Roe won her first individual event title on floor with a career-best 9.875.
Up next, Illinois will travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a contest with the Minnesota Gophers next Friday night. The meet will begin at 7 pm CT from the Maturi Pavilion.
