CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The No. 20 Fighting Illini women's gymnastics team fell to Iowa 196.275-195.125 Saturday afternoon inside Huff Hall. Illinois produced one event title and six (including all-around) top-3 finishes.

Two Illini took home an event title, as Giana O'Connor and Erin Buchanan shared the floor crown with a 9.875. O'Connor now has 10 event titles on the season. Lizzy LeDuc produced a career-best all-around for the second consecutive meet, finishing with a 39.200 that placed second. O'Connor also produced a 39.200.

Illinois trailed Iowa by .050 after the first rotation. The Illini started the meet on vault totaling a 48.625. Erin Buchanan scored a 9.775 to lead the squad and LeDuc and O'Connor followed with a 9.750. Heather Foley (9.725) and Julia Hutcherson (9.625) also scored for the Illini.   

In the second rotation Illinois produced a 48.800 on bars, its second-best total on the event this season. LeDuc and O'Connor scored a 9.825 that placed third. LeDuc turned in a career-best routine. Buchanan and Sarah Lyons each totaled a 9.800 and Bridget Hodan scored a 9.550 to round out the team total.

Illinois totaled 48.625 on beam in the third rotation. Sunny Kato led with a 9.825 that placed fourth. LeDuc produced a 9.775, while O'Connor (9.750), Foley (9.725) and Hodan (9.550) also counted scores in the event.

On floor in the final rotation the Orange and Blue totaled a 49.075. O'Connor and Buchanan led with a 9.875. LeDuc followed with a 9.850 and Hodan (9.750) and Foley (9.725) also counted scores.
